Basketball: Some of state’s best players to compete in All-Star games Saturday at BPCC

The LHSCA/LHSBCA All-Star Boys and Girls Basketball Games are set for Saturday at Bossier Parish Community College.
The girls game tips off at 1 p.m. and will be followed by the boys game at 3. The games are for seniors only
As of Wednesday, two Bossier Parish players were on the West girls roster — Airline forward Tyra Kidd and Benton guard Brandy Harris.
Kidd was a first-team All-District 1-5A selection. She averaged 11.8 points and 7.5 rebounds.
Harris was the District 1-4A MVP. She averaged 19.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.8 assists for the district champion Lady Tigers.
Also on the West roster are Brittney Miles of 4A quarterfinalist Fair Park, Amber Smith of Loyola College Prep, Jasmine Thomas of three-time Class 2A state champ North Caddo and Kimberly Burton of Class 2A semifinalist Red River.
Thomas was the MVP in the Class 2A title game.
Smith has signed with Missouri, while Thomas and Burton are headed to Louisiana-Lafayette.
No Bossier Parish players were on the West boys roster, but Plain Dealing’s David Bryant is the head coach.
North Caddo’s Robert Williams, Natchitoches Central’s Austin Guy and Arcadia’s Travious Fielding are on the West roster.
The 6-foot-8 Williams is a Texas A&M signee. Guy, a Northwestern State football signee, helped Natchitoches Central win the Class 5A championship.
Fielding was named the MVP of the Class 1A title game. He scored 19 points and had four assists in a 55-48 victory over Southern Lab.
The West roster also includes Jacob and Kaleb Ledoux of Class 2A semifinalist Lafayette Christian, Vincent Phillips of Class 4A semifinalist Edna Karr and Devante’ Benjamin of Class 4A semifinalist St. Thomas More.
The Ledoux brothers are McNeese State signees.
The West roster also features Arkansas signee Adrio Bailey of Lakeview and McNeese State signee Kelvin Henry of St. Louis Catholic
The East roster includes Malik Crowfield and Herb McGee of Class 2A runner-up Riverside Academy, Jordan Adebutu and Garrick Green of Class 5A runner-up Scotlandville, Wayde Sims and Jalen Johnson of Class 3A champion University Lab and Will Reese of Class B champ Anacoco.
The 6-6 Sims is an LSU signee. He was the Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year in 2015.
Sims had 26 points and 12 rebounds in University’s 98-65 victory over Wossman in the state championship game.
Crowfield is headed to Virginia Commonwealth and McGee to South Alabama.
Reese was named the MVP in the Class B title game after scoring 25 points.
Also on the East roster is Helen Cox’s Roydell Brown, a Louisiana-Lafayette signee.
The East girls roster features Paige Franckiewicz of Class 5A state champion Mount Carmel, Tyler Morrison of Class 4A semifinalist St. Michael. Bre’Ashlee Jones of Class 3A state champ Jewel Sumner, Regan Bolton and Courtney Dawsey of Class 2A semifinalist St. Thomas Aquinas and Sydney Hayden of Class B champion Holden.
Morrison and Dawsey are Southeastern signees. Jones and Bolton are headed to McNeese State.
Also on the East roster are Texas A&M signee Rakell Spencer of Cabrini and Louisiana-Lafayette signee Danyale Bayonne of Pineville.
The West roster features Charlesha Douglas of Class 4A runner-up Rayne, Khelsea Foster of Class 1A champ Arcadia and Nicole Bursey of Class C champ Summerfield.
Bursey was the MVP in the Class C title game.
Also on the West roster are Louisiana-Lafayette signee Aeriyl Mass of Barbe and McNeese State signee Caitlyn Davis of Breaux Bridge.
