Bass Pro Shop to host Crappie Madness

Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World in Bossier City will host the inaugural Crappie Madness, Feb. 7-8 and Feb. 14-15.

Each day during Crappie Madness, Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World will offer free crappie fishing seminars taught by pros and local pros. The seminars will be held at 7 p.m. on Fridays and at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

Those who attend seminars are eligible to enter a sweepstakes drawing to win a crappie-rigged 2014 Tracker Pro Team 175 TF. John Godwin and Jay Stone, of the hit A&E show Duck Dynasty, will meet fans and sign autographs at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8 in the marine department.

Crappie Madness events will also include kid-friendly activities. On Saturday, Feb. 8, 1-5 p.m., a “catch and release pond” will be set up in front of the store, where the alligators usually are. A free photo download featuring “your face on the cover of Crappie Magazine” will be available on Fridays, 5-8 p.m., and on Saturdays, 12-6 p.m. A fried fish sampling will be available in the camping department on Saturdays, 2-5 p.m.

Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World of Bossier City, located at 100 Bass Pro Drive, offers visitors a 106,000-square-foot store which features a waterfall flowing into a 13,000 gallon aquarium, a reptile exhibit, a state-of-the-art shooting arcade, an indoor archery range and much more, all located on the banks of the Red River in the heart of the Outlets at Louisiana Boardwalk.
