BCPD detectives arrest trio on armed robbery charges

Detectives with the Bossier City Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit have arrested three men in connection with the armed robbery of two women last month at a local hotel.

24-year old Akeem Jamar Johnson, 22-year old Devin Eason and 22-year old Ronald Lee Carley Jr, all of Bossier City, have been arrested on warrants charging them each with armed robbery with a firearm.

The three are accused of robbing two women at gunpoint on January 26 inside a room at the Travelodge in the 700 block of Diamond Jacks Boulevard. The suspects robbed the victims of some personal items before fleeing the scene. The victims then contacted police. Neither victim was injured during the robbery however one was taken to a local hospital by fire department personnel upon experiencing difficulty breathing.

Over the course of the investigation detectives were able to link the three suspects to the holdup and secure warrants for their arrests. Johnson was arrested last week and Carley was taken into custody this morning. Their arrests came without incident. However when police attempted to stop Eason in his vehicle near the intersection of Foster Street and Margaret Street Tuesday afternoon, he jumped out and ran from officers. He was caught after a brief foot chase. As a result of fleeing from police, he was also charged with resisting an officer.

Bond for Johnson, Carley and Eason on the armed robbery charges is set at $250,000 each.
