BCPD stepping up DWI enforcement during the holidays

In an effort to keep the roads safe during the holiday season the Bossier City Police Department is partnering with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission in the nationwide safety campaign “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” from December 18, 2015 through January 3, 2016.

As part of the campaign sponsored by the LHSC and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Bossier City Police Department will increase its DWI enforcement through its DWI Task Force during the designated time period. The task force is made up of officers who patrol the city’s roadways with the sole purpose of targeting motorists who choose to drink and drive.

The department with also be assisting the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police in conducting a sobriety checkpoint this Saturday evening into Sunday morning, December 19-20, at an undisclosed location in Bossier Parish.

The Bossier City Police Department wants everyone to be safe this holiday season and advises those who choose to celebrate with alcohol to utilize a sober designated driver.

The BCPD’s participation in Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over is funded by a grant from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
