BCPD stepping up DWI enforcement with national campaign


DRIVER SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER — bossier city policeThat’s the message Bossier City Police is sending to the public.

Officers will be stepping up DWI enforcement over the next several days as part of the national campaign Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over sponsored by the LHSC and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. As part of the campaign, the Bossier City Police Department will increase the number of patrols conducted by its DWI Task Force.

The task force is made up of officers who patrol city streets with the sole purpose of targeting motorists who choose to drink and drive. The campaign runs from February 6 through February 17 and will combine use public awareness with high-visibility enforcement.

The BCPD’s participation in Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over is funded by grant money from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
