In an effort to deter holiday crime, the Bossier City Police Department will again be activating its Armed Robbery Task Force during the holiday shopping season.

Officers who work the task force will patrol Bossier City businesses and busy shopping centers to provide an increased law enforcement presence. The main objective of the Task Force is to prevent armed robberies and other crimes by keeping criminals guessing if a business they may be targeting will have an armed Bossier City police officer inside or close by and ready to respond.

The Bossier City Police Department utilizes its Armed Robbery Task Force each year during the holiday shopping season. Task Force operations are funded through a grant from the United States Justice Department.
