LAKE CHARLES – The Bossier High Bearkats defeated Washington-Marion 42-39 to win the Class 4A state basketball championship Saturday night at McNeese State’s Burton Memorial Coliseum Complex.

olbossierTyrese English led the Bearkats with 14 points. Larry Robinson III was named the Class 4A Most Outstanding Player, finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds in the championship game.

The Bearkats outscored Washington-Marion 21-14 in the second half and held the Indians to just three points in the third quarter. The Indians missed a 3-pointer with just four seconds left that would have tied the game.
