The Benton Tigers finished runner-up in the Choudrant Aggies cross country meet Saturday.
The Tigers scored 69 points. Ruston won with 52.
Tayden McGuire led Benton with an 11th place finish, covering the 3-mile course in 18:09. Other Tigers in the scoring were Jared Gaydos (14th, 18:25), Taylor King (18th, 18:41), Chandler Burns (20th, 18:51) and Reese Yarbrough (21st, 18:59). Choudrant’s Nathan Anderson won in 16:26.
Benton’s Jenna Keys finished sixth in the girls’ meet in 22:11. Megan Rainwater was 13th in 22:52. Choudrant’s Marissa Bennett won in 21:25.
Benton Middle School placed second in the junior high boys’ division. Benton scored 62 points to 24 for champion Ruston Junior High.
Dylan Garrett finished fifth, covering the 2-mile course in 13:41. Dylan Sexton (14th) and Steven Robles (19th) also posted top-20 finishes.
Jaiden Beyer was 24th, Jacon Stephens 26th, Landon Joyner 28th and Cameron Thomas 32nd.
Benton Middle finished third in the fifth-sixth grade girls’ division.
Victoria Teague led the way with a fourth-place finish, running the mile course in 7:33. Other top finishers included Ella Grace Quinlan, Taylor Walker, Molly Machen and Kennedy Wynn.
Benton Middle’s Austin Ballard finished 14th in the fifth-sixth grade boys’ division and Antony Ardoin was 17th. Alisha Huffman was 16th in the junior high girls’ division.
