This Sunday marks the opening day of the second annual Benton Farmers Market.
The market opens at noon May 31 and will open every Sunday noon to 4 p.m. through July 26.
More than 60 vendors signed up for this year’s market — some new ones include The Twisted Brownie, Crawford Farms, Gethsemane Gardens, knife sharpening, homemade dog treats, vintage jewelry and yard art, stone ground cornmeal and grits, professional face painter vendor, Angel Farms, Rich’s Fresh Produce from Plain Dealing, Hecho fresco mexican dishes made fresh with produce from vendors, spring rolls from All in the Phamily, cracked pecans, boiled peanuts —— and even more farmers/growers than last year.
New programs include dietitian with Skinny Louisiana demonstrating cooking healthy, woodcarvers, honey bee display. Musical performances include students from Bossier Parish Schools Talented Students Program performing, Cheridy Adams from Springhill and more.
