Detectives believe there may be other victims
A Benton man was arrested March 30 for engaging in sexual relations with a juvenile female over the past few years.
Perry W. Coker, 69, of the 100 block of Finley Rd. in Benton, was arrested on warrant charges for first degree rape (formerly aggravated rape) and felony aggravated crimes against nature following a three-month investigation by detectives with the Bossier Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives are continuing their investigation with other potential victims in the area. They also believe there may be more juvenile victims from this area or other known locations where Coker has lived, including Zwolle, La., and Alaska.
If you believe Coker had sexual relations with children or if you were one of the children with whom he had sexual relations, you are urged to contact the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office at (318) 965-2203.
While most sexual crimes carry a 30 year statute of limitations that begins when the victim attains the age of 18, there is no statute of limitations for a charge of first degree rape.
Coker was transported to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility and faces a $600,000 bond.
