Benton Middle named National PLC Model School

Once is nice but twice is even better.

Benton Middle School has again accomplished something no other school in Louisiana has before. It has been recognized as a 2018 National Model Professional Learning Community for the second year in a row.

The PLC model represents a set of core principles that shifts the focus from ensuring students are taught to ensuring they learn. Promoting a culture of collaboration and working in teams is another critical component.

After a rigorous national PLC review panel assessed Benton Middle School’s overall commitment and successful implementation of PLC core concepts, the Tigers once again received the distinction as a national PLC Model School. It is a reflection of the exemplary work by administration and faculty in establishing a high-achieving professional learning community.
