Benton police officer named Certified Criminal Investigator

Chief Charles Pilkinton of the Benton Police Department is proud to announce that Benton Police Officer, Assistant Chief Carl E. Bates has achieved the prestigious designation, Certified Criminal Investigator, CCI, by the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute ( ACFEI ).

A Certified Criminal Investigator is a professional investigator who uses forensic skills to investigate all types of cases. Building upon a foundation of forensic basics, a Certified Criminal Investigator has met a set of standards maintained by the American Board of Certified Criminal Investigators.

The designation Certified Criminal Investigator, CCI identifies a professional’s high level of excellence, achievement and competence, and it confirms that the professional has made a commitment to providing reliable service and maintaining the highest of professional and ethical standards.

ACFEI is the world’s largest association for professionals in the field of forensic science. ACFEI’s mission is to recognize top professionals through board-approved standards. ACFEI members include many of the most prominent forensic science professionals in the world.
