Former Benton stars Jordan Shaffer and Aaron Henigan contributed to a West sweep in the Louisiana High School Coaches Association Baseball All-Star Games Friday and Saturday in Denham Springs.
Shaffer, the MVP on the Press-Tribune’s All-Parish team, combined with two pitchers to throw a one-hitter in a 6-1 victory Friday.
Shaffer, a Northwestern State signee, didn’t allow a hit and struck out two in the three innings, picking up the win.
Comeaux’s Tyler Polk, who went 2-for-2, was the West MVP.
Henigan allowed one run in two innings in an 8-7 victory Saturday.
Opelousas Catholic’s Logan Constantine, who hit a three-run game-winning home, was named the West MVP.
