The Benton Tigers won their third straight Division II state golf championship in dominating fashion Tuesday at Huntington Park Golf Course.
The Tigers shot a 14-over par 302 in the second round for a two-day total of 610, 30 strokes better than runner-up St. Louis of Lake Charles. North DeSoto finished third at 646.
Benton’s David Cole won individual medalist with a two-day total of 2-under 70-72–142, one stroke better than North DeSoto’s Matt Ramsey. Benton’s Jacob Wyatt finished with a 76-79–155.
Three Benton golfers improved their scores in the second round. Shane Cram shot a 76 to go with his first-round 82. Corbin Cantrell and Colton Ryan both improved their scores by four strokes. Cantrell shot an 80-76 and Ryan an 82-78.
