Hayden White, who will be a sophomore at Benton this fall, finished tied for 26th in the Louisiana Golf Association Junior Amateur Championship.
White shot a 6-over 78 Friday at Carter Plantation after firing a 72 in Thursday’s first round. He finished 14 strokes behind winner Price Butcher of New Orleans. Butcher shot a second straight 68 for a two-day total of 8-under 136.
Byrd senior-to-be Carter Toms, son of former Airline star David Toms, shot a 71 to go with his first-round 70 and finished tied for third at 3-under.
Benton’s Colton Ryan finished tied for 36th. He shot a 78 Friday for a two-day total of 9-over 153. David Cole, a teammate of Ryan’s and White’s at Benton, finished tied for 47th at 13 over.
Bossier City’s Jacob Hill and Carter Jurkovich finished tied for 59th and 65th, respectively.
The tournament was shortened from 54 to 36 holes due to inclement weather.
