Benton’s Hayden White finished tied for second the Futures Tour Championship 14-15 age division last weekend in Greenville, Miss.
White, Hunter Atkins of West Point, Miss., and Trey DePriest of Lake City, Ark., all finished at 4-over par in the 36-hole tournament.
On the first playoff hole, White lipped out for par. DePriest also made a bogey, and Atkins won the tournament with a par.
White, who will be a freshman at Benton High this fall, birdied the 18th Sunday for a final round 73 to go with a first-round 75 on Saturday.
White finished seventh in the overall division, which included players 16-18 years old. He was just four strokes behind winner Garrett Johnson of Kimberly, Ala.
Bossier City’s Jacob Wyatt, a member of the Benton High’s three-time state championship golf team, finished tied for 27th with a 74-79—153.
About 100 players from Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee Alabama and Arkansas partcipated in the event
