Benton’s Wyatt finishes tied for 10th in David Toms tournament


Benton High senior Jacob Wyatt finished tied for 10th in the American Junior Golf Association David Toms Foundation Shreveport Junior golf tournament Thursday at Southern Trace Country Club.
Wyatt shot an even par 72 in the final round and finished at 2 over for the 54-hole event. Blaine Hale Jr. of Dallas won in a playoff with Brandon Smith of Frisco, Texas. Both finished 6 under.
Wyatt, who rebounded from a 77 in Tuesday’s first round with a 69 Wednesday, was the top local finisher and second highest from Louisiana. Triston Elston of Baton Rouge finished sixth at 2 under.
Benton freshman Hayden White (76-75-78) finished tied for 37th at 13 over. Benton senior Corbin Cantrell (77-75-79) finished tied for 44th at 15 over.
Benton senior Shane Cram (78-75-84) and Airline senior Matt Barker (80-79-78) finished tied for 55th at 21 over.
