Body found in Mississippi believed to be missing Benton man

A body found this morning in a field off of Highway 16 near Benton, Miss., is believed to be a missing Benton man, according to detectives with the Bossier Sheriff’s Office.

Shawn “Corey” King, 32, of Benton, La, went missing back on Aug. 3, and Bossier Sheriff’s Office detectives traveled to Mississippi this morning to assist with the investigation after

King’s truck was found wrecked and abandoned on the 12000 block of Highway 16. His body was found earlier today not far from where the wreck occurred. King’s family has been notified.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Office will conduct the investigation.
