The Village Water System has issued a precautionary boil advisory for residents in the
Forest Hills Subdivision after an 8-inch water main break at 2847 Sunrise Point. Crews
have isolated the affected area between Coldwater Creek and Mossy Rock Point while
repairs are underway.
Because water pressure may have dropped below safe levels, all customers in the
impacted area should boil water before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth,
making ice, or preparing food.
Residents should bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute, then allow it to cool
before use. As an alternative, bottled water may be used. Household dishwashers may be
used if they reach high temperatures; however, hand-washed dishes should be rinsed with
boiled or bottled water. It is also recommended that residents discard ice made before the
advisory and sanitize infant feeding items using boiled water.
Village Water System crews are repairing the break and will test the system once repairs
are complete. The boil advisory will remain in effect until testing confirms the water is
safe, and the public will be notified when it is lifted.
