Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No. 1 has issued a boil-water advisory for all
residents of East Highland Mobile Home Park in Haughton after crews discovered a
water main break.
To complete repairs, crews isolated and capped a bypass line connected to the 8-inch
water main. As a precaution, a boil advisory has been issued for the entire subdivision,
including Ferndale Street and all surrounding streets within the park.
Water samples have been collected and will be tested on Monday by the Louisiana
Department of Health laboratory in Shreveport.
What Residents Should Do?
Until the advisory is lifted, customers should boil water for at least one minute before
using it for:
Drinking
Cooking
Making ice
Brushing teeth
Washing fruits and vegetables
Residents may also use bottled water as an alternative.
The advisory will remain in effect until water quality testing confirms the system is safe
and the Louisiana Department of Health authorizes its removal.
