UPDATE: This advisory has been rescinded.
The City of Bossier City has issued a boil advisory for a small area of Bossier City.
The advisory is for residents and businesses along and south of Shed Road between Clarence Drive and Christy Street and north of East Texas Street.
At approximately 12:30 p.m. a water main along Shed Road between Clarence Drive and Christy Street unexpectedly ruptured. Crews were mobilized to make the necessary repairs and restored water service at approximately 5:30 p.m. However, repairs required valving down the water main and customers within this area were without water during the repair.
The advisory is a precautionary measure and recommends those in the affected area to boil their water for one minute before consuming it until the advisory is rescinded. The advisory pertains only to water used for consumption. Again the advisory is a precautionary measure and not a boil order.
The city will notify the media when the advisory is rescinded.
