Boil Advisory Issued – System Wide

The Town of Haughton water system experienced a main water line break on one of our transmission lines. This incident caused a system-wide loss of pressure and water service interruptions for some customers.

As of 10:30PM yesterday, crews have completed the necessary repairs and the system is currently recovering. Water pressure should begin returning shortly.

As a result of the temporary pressure loss, a system-wide boil advisory is in effect for Town of Haughton water customers. This advisory is being issued as a precautionary measure in accordance with standard water system safety procedures whenever a system-wide pressure loss occurs.

Customers should bring water to a rolling boil for at least one full minute before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice, or food preparation.

The boil advisory will remain in effect until required water samples are collected, submitted, and cleared through laboratory analysis. The Town is working with state testing facilities to expedite the analysis and will notify customers as soon as the advisory is lifted.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as our crews work to restore normal service.
