Bossier Chamber of Commerce honors local patriots

The Bossier Chamber of Commerce’s annual Patriot Awards luncheon was held at Margaritaville Resort Casino in Bossier City on Thursday, September 9, 2021. The event honors our local first responders who go above and beyond the call of duty in protecting our community and keeping us safe. The event also remembers those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. This year’s event also recognized the 20th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

The 2021 Bossier Chamber of Commerce Patriot Award winners were:

Law Enforcement: Bossier City Police Corporal Matthew Bragg and Officer Brandon Bailey, along with Citizen Rawlis Leslie.

Fire Protection: Shreveport Fire Department Fire Engineer Karl Wulf, Fire Engineer Justin Mackey and Firefighter Colt Godwin.

Fire Protection: Shreveport Fire Department Group: Shadoin, Prelow, Powell, Bagley, T. White, Stringer, Hesson, Glass, Hollins, Richardson, Ford, Thomas, Robertson, Young, Robinson, Seets, B. White, Duncan, Swift, Merrit, Stephenson, Davis, Jones, Hines, and Johnson.

Military: Senior Airman Mikhayla Waugaman, 2nd Bomb Wing, U.S. Air Force.

The awards sponsor for the award ceremony was Shreveport Communications. The host sponsor was Margaritaville Resort Casino. Platinum Sponsors: Barksdale Federal Credit Union, Citizens National Bank and Red River Bank. Gold Sponsors: BOM Bank, Bossier Federal Credit Union, Bossier Parish Community College, Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home and Life Air Rescue.
