At a special called Bossier City Council meeting Tuesday, the council adopted a resolution appointing Manchac Consulting Group as the lead engineer and manager of the Walter O. Bigby Carriageway project.
“Since our last meeting, I had an opportunity to look over the plans and to look at the entire proposition,” At-Large Councilman Tim Larkin said. “I really came to the conclusion this is a wonderful idea to have oversight over, not only this project, but the other part of it that constitutes the whole ‘put together’ on the WOB parkway. It makes a lot of sense.”
Following Larkin’s remarks to the council, Mayor Lo Walker offered his thoughts about the change for the Walter O. Bigby Carriageway project.
“I’d just like to add that I have also looked at the plans and met the company that’s involved and am impressed with it. And I think this is the way for us to go,” said Walker.
“Manchac would be the process firm or individuals that make certain that we’ve got a good, timely process and bring it to fruition early. The construction plans are about 99 percent complete. So I really do believe this is the way to go,” Walker added.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mayor Walker addressed the Council and updated them on the COVID-19 Spread and the Actions the City, Parish and State have been taking.
He noted that at this time, no curfew would be set and that if things change, he will take appropriate action.
