In a solemn and heartfelt tribute, law enforcement agencies from across Bossier, Caddo, Shreveport, and surrounding areas gathered on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Bossier City Civic Center to honor officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
The annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony, held during National Police Week (May 12–16), brought together officers, families, city officials, and community members to pay respects to the fallen and reaffirm the community’s support for those who continue to serve.
Held at 10:00 a.m. in the Court of the Civic Center at 620 Benton Road, the ceremony featured the participation of multiple agencies and dignitaries. Bossier City Mayor Tommy Chandler and Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux jointly presented a proclamation recognizing the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers throughout the region.
The event served as a powerful reminder of the risks faced daily by those in uniform and the lasting impact on the families and departments left behind. The atmosphere was marked by reverence, with honor guards, a roll call of fallen officers, and symbolic gestures meant to affirm that their service will never be forgotten.
Bossier City Police Chief Daniel Haugen underscored the community’s enduring commitment to the memory of those who gave their lives, emphasizing that their legacy continues to inspire service and sacrifice among current and future officers.
The public ceremony was well attended, offering citizens an opportunity to stand shoulder to shoulder with law enforcement and express gratitude for their protection and dedication.
As the community reflected during this special observance, the message was clear: the fallen will always be remembered, and their service will never be taken for granted.
