The City of Bossier City, in partnership with Xfinity and Comcast, celebrated the conclusion of the “Soar to Success” essay competition with a recognition program on Thursday, September 4, at the Shady Grove Community Center.

The contest, organized with support from Bossier City Parks and Recreation and Bossier Parish Schools, invited high school students from across the parish to submit essays centered on the theme of how to “Soar to Success.” A total of 40 students participated in the competition, showcasing their ideas on achievement, perseverance, and leadership.

During the program, students were honored and awarded laptops provided by Xfinity. City leaders expressed appreciation for the company’s investment in local youth and for fostering opportunities that highlight the importance of education and community involvement.

The event underscored the shared commitment between the city, schools, and corporate partners to encourage students to reach their full potential. With an emphasis on the idea that today’s youth represent tomorrow’s leaders, the competition highlighted the role of positive engagement in preparing students for success both inside and outside the classroom.
