Bossier City Issues a Boil Advisory

The City of Bossier City has issued a boil advisory for a small portion of their water system. The advisory is for Bossier City water customers and businesses along the east side of Hamilton Rd. between Barksdale Blvd. and Cox Street. Bossier City plans to submit one sample downstream of the water break on Thursday July 31st.

Bossier City maintenance crews responded to an emergency water main blow out at approximately 11:00 a.m. at the corner of Hamilton Rd. and Martin Lane. The eight (8) inch water main was damaged during boring work for a gas utility line. The main was repaired by 5:00 p.m..

The advisory is a precautionary measure and Bossier City recommends that affected customers would boil their water for one (1) minute before consuming it until the advisory is rescinded. The advisory applies only to water used for consumption. Again this advisory is a precautionary measure and NOT a boil order. Customers will be notified when the advisor is rescinded.
