Members of the Bossier City Lions Club gathered Thursday, April 23, for their weekly luncheon, where Jill Sessions spoke about the responsibilities of her office and the importance of voter participation ahead of upcoming elections.
Sessions, who serves as Bossier Parish Clerk of Court, outlined the duties of her office, including maintaining court records and serving as the parish’s chief election official. She emphasized that her role becomes especially critical during election cycles, when accuracy, organization and public access are essential to ensuring a smooth and transparent process.
During her remarks, Sessions highlighted key dates for upcoming elections and encouraged residents to take advantage of early voting opportunities. She noted that Election Day will coincide with Bossier Parish Schools graduation ceremonies, which could create scheduling conflicts for some voters.
Because of this, Sessions urged citizens to plan ahead and consider voting early to ensure their voices are heard without added time constraints.
The presentation provided attendees with a clearer understanding of how the clerk of court’s office supports both the judicial system and local elections, while also underscoring the importance of civic engagement within the community.
