Bossier City man killed when struck by train

A Bossier City man was killed just before noon on Saturday morning when he was struck by a southbound train near the Golden Meadows subdivision in south Bossier City. The deceased man has been identified as 28 year old Jeremy Todd Evans. Bossier City Police Department officers investigating the incident report that Evans was walking southbound next to the train tracks when he was struck by the southbound train. Evans was also reported to have been wearing headphones.

Following the incident, the train remained stopped on the tracks blocking all railroad crossings on Barksdale Boulevard from Golden Meadows Drive northbound to Violet Avenue until mid afternoon. Motorists were detoured to Panther Drive (north) and Sligo Road (south) until all crossings were reopened.
