A Bossier City man has been sentenced to decades in prison after pleading guilty to a sex offense involving a minor, according to the Bossier Parish District Court.

Zachary Dewayne Doolittle, 40, entered a guilty plea to a charge of aggravated crimes against nature and was sentenced to 45 years at hard labor. As part of the plea, the sentence also includes mandatory castration under Louisiana law.

Prosecutors said the case involved sexual acts committed against a family member under the age of 13. Details of the case were presented in court as part of the factual basis for the plea.

Schuyler Marvin said the outcome reflects the office’s commitment to protecting children and holding offenders accountable.

“My office is committed to prosecuting the predators that victimize children and will work hand-in-hand with our partners in law enforcement to protect children,” Marvin said. He also commended the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office for its investigation, calling it thorough and instrumental in securing the conviction.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Chance Nerren. The defendant was represented by defense attorney John Bokenfohr.

Authorities said the sentence ensures the defendant will be removed from the community while reinforcing efforts to address crimes involving the exploitation of minors.
