Around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday evening, November 3, 2020, the Bossier City Police Department and the Bossier City Fire Department responded to a vehicle crash on Interstate 220 between Shed Road and Swan Lake Road.
Stephen Boose, 67 years old, of Bossier City, was traveling westbound on I-220 in a 2017 Acura SUV when, for reasons that remain under investigation, he drove off the roadway and down the median. The vehicle then overturned into a ditch upside down and became submerged in water. Responding police officers went into the water and were able to get Boose out of the SUV. Firefighters began CPR and transported Boose to Oschner LSU Health Shreveport. Boose was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Detectives with the Bossier City Police Accident Investigation Team say that alcohol impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation pending the results of an autopsy report from the coroner’s office.
The inside lane of I-220 westbound was closed during the crash investigation.
