Bossier City Police, Fire to hold fundraiser cookout

Members of the Bossier City Police and Fire Departments will hold a fundraiser cookout to benefit the Louisiana-Mississippi Chapter of the ALS Association this Thursday, October 27 from 11 a.m. until 1 pm at the Liberty Garden, 620 Benton Rd.

Hamburger lunches will be available for sale to all city employees and members of the public for a donation in the amount of their choice.

The money raised will be donated in support of Deputy City Marshal Gary Bossier of the Bossier City Marshal’s Office who was recently diagnosed with ALS and in memory of former Bossier City Human Resources Director James “Jay” Plummer, III who passed away in August after fighting a courageous battle against ALS.

The money raised will be turned in by a team of Bossier City police, fire and city employees who will take part in the Shreveport – Bossier Walk to Defeat ALS on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Louisiana Boardwalk.
