As students head back to school, the Bossier City Police Department reminds everyone to help make
this school year a safe one!
Slow down in school zones and obey posted speed limits.
Stop for school buses when the stop arm is extended and red lights are flashing.
Put the phone away—distracted driving puts lives at risk.
Watch for children, crossing guards, bicyclists, and families during morning drop-off and afternoon
pick-up.
Plan ahead and allow extra travel time to avoid rushing through school traffic.
Our officers will be actively patrolling school zones to help keep students, parents, and school staff
safe. A few extra seconds of patience can make all the difference.
Let’s work together to ensure every student arrives safely and returns home safely each day.
On behalf of Chief Daniel Haugen and The Bossier City Police Department, we hope each and every
student has a safe and memorable school year.
