With inclement icy and wet weather expected to move into the Ark-La-Tex,
the Bossier City Police Department is reminding motorists to take extra precautions while traveling.

Drivers are urged to slow down, increase following distances, and remain alert for hazardous road
conditions. Bridges, overpasses, and shaded areas may ice over first and can be especially dangerous.

Motorists should avoid sudden braking or sharp turns and allow additional time to reach their
destinations.

The Bossier City Police Department also reminds the public to avoid driving through standing or
flooded water and to never drive around barricades or road closures.

Residents are encouraged to monitor local weather forecasts and road conditions and to limit travel if
conditions worsen.

The Bossier City Police Department appreciates the public’s cooperation in helping keep our roadways
safe during severe weather.
