The soon to open Bossier City Sam’s Club will host a Military Appreciation Cookout this Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sam’s Club associates will provide free hotdogs, chips and drinks to U.S. Military retirees, active duty and civilian employees and their families at the Arthur Teaque Parkway Pavilion Two.
They will provide a free lunch to U.S. Military retirees, active duty and civilian employees and their families, provide a special discount on Sam’s Club memberships and thank attendees for their service.
“I am humbled by the selfless service of our uniformed men and women,” said Club Manager John Hamm. “We look forward to meeting our local heroes and serving them at the cookout.”
One of the ways Sam’s Club values Military Veterans is through the Welcome Home commitment. Sam’s Club and Walmart recently made a commitment to hire 100,000 veterans over a five year period– guaranteeing a job to any honorably discharged veteran within his or her first 12 months off of active duty. Walmart and Sam’s Club are already the largest employers of Military Veterans in the United States, but want to hire more.
In addition to honoring the Welcome Home Commitment, Active and retired military personnel and current civilian employees of the U.S. Military in the Bossier City, LA area will be eligible to receive, their choice of either a one-year Sam’s Savings membership for $10.00 with proof of eligibility or a one year Sam’s Plus membership at $65 and will receive a $20 gift card.
