It’s been a notably warm and bustling week in the Bossier-Shreveport area. We proudly hosted the Diamond Youth League World Series at Tinsley Ball Park Sports Complex, drawing teams from over 12 states. The tournament showcased top Little League talent, with visitors leaving impressed by our community and facilities. We eagerly anticipate hosting this tournament again.
Last week, we also welcomed the Louisiana Municipal Association (LMA), which consists of mayors from across the state. Mayor Tommy Chandler expressed his pride in Bossier City during the opening ceremonies, highlighting our hospitality and community assets. Attendees praised the tours, which provided deeper insights into our area.
Looking ahead, Shreveport is gearing up for the Humor and Harmony Weekend Event starting August 8. This celebrity-packed event is expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors. With ongoing I-20 construction, residents are advised to be patient and plan for potential delays.

As summer winds down, we’re gearing up for the new school year beginning August 8. We wish all students a successful and exciting year ahead. With school back in session, high school football isn’t far behind. Bossier City’s high schools are poised for a strong season, with potential for district titles and beyond.
The South Bossier Luncheon Group will meet on August 14, offering a prime networking opportunity for local businesses, particularly in South Bossier.
In government news, Mayor Chandler proposed disbanding the Charter Commission amid recent controversies to focus on city priorities without distraction. He thanked the commission members for their dedication and emphasized that the decision was in the city’s best interest.
