Bossier City is getting a new spin on classic Louisiana cuisine with Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar opening Monday.

The new restaurant, located at 3010 Airline Drive in the former Santa Fe Cattle Co. location, will be the second Walk-On’s in the greater Shreveport/Bossier area and the ninth location statewide.

“Walk-On’s has been a huge hit in Shreveport, which is why we couldn’t be happier to give Bossier one of its own,” said Chris McJunkins, Shreveport and Bossier City franchisee.

McJunkins, a 35-year veteran of the restaurant industry, was the second franchisee to sign-on with Walk-On’s Enterprises last year. He heads up a partnership group that includes former LSU football star Jacob Hester.

“Chris and his team have done an extraordinary job with their Shreveport restaurant, and I know how excited they are to expand to Bossier City,” said Brandon Landry, co-founder and owner of Walk-On’s Enterprises. “They built a beautiful restaurant and hired a great staff, and the community is going to really be impressed with their new Walk-On’s.”

Walk-On’s is renowned for its signature menu featuring a taste of Louisiana served up in a game-day atmosphere by America’s Cheerleaders, who make sure every guest feels welcome.

“I grew up in Bossier City and can’t tell you how excited we all are to welcome Walk-On’s to the community,” said General Manager Chris Renn, a graduate of Bossier High School with 30 years of restaurant experience. “This is such a great town and the people here deserve their very own, convenient place to enjoy delicious food while cheering on their favorite teams.”

Baton Rouge-based Walk-On’s – voted “Best Sports Bar in North America” by ESPN – now has 10 locations: three in Baton Rouge, one each in New Orleans, Lafayette, Houma, Shreveport, Lake Charles and Bossier City, La., and one in Lubbock, Texas. Other locations are on the way in Zachary, Covington, Alexandria, Metairie and Ascension Parish, as well as Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, Tyler and South Texas.

In May 2015, New Orleans Saints superstar Drew Brees and his wife, Brittany, bought into Walk-On’s Enterprises as co-owners. Drew pointed out that Walk-On’s is “a great place to bring my family, teammates and business colleagues” and that they were excited to help “expand the brand across the nation.”

The Bossier City Walk-On’s is approximately 7,500 square feet, with seating for 260 guests. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday through Saturday.
