Bossier Deputies promote safety at Friday night’s Jamboree

Who’s ready for some football!!!???  The Friday Night Lights will feature all six Bossier Parish High School teams taking the field at Airline High School for the annual High School Jamboree, and dozens of Bossier Sheriff’s Office deputies will be present to provide public safety for the anticipated large crowds.  Bossier City Police Department officers are also providing traffic control for the event.

The gates will open at the Airline High School football stadium at 5 p.m. for the beginning of the 64th Annual Jamboree sponsored by the Bossier City Lions Club.  Deputies will monitor activities within the stadium, while Bossier City officers will monitor the parking area and roadways.

Deputies are advising fans who attend the Jamboree that all book bags, large purses, fanny packs, and other concealment bags will be searched for your safety and others in attendance.  Remember, school premises are gun-free zones, and no alcohol or tobacco use is allowed anywhere in the stadium, parking lot or anywhere on school grounds.

The football schedule is:

  • Plain Dealing vs. Bossier, 6 p.m.
  • Airline vs. Haughton, 7:25 p.m.
  • Benton vs. Parkway, 9 p.m.

“This is a fantastic event to kick off the high school football season here in Bossier Parish, and we want everyone to play safe on and off the field,” said Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington.  “Our deputies will be there for public safety, and if you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask anyone of them.”
