A great summer for the Bossier Nationals ended with a 9-3 loss to New Mexico in the semifinals of the Little League Southwestern Regional Tuesday night in Waco, Texas.

Bossier led 3-1 after the first inning, but the Nationals had  trouble getting anything going at the plate after that.

Bossier reached the semifinals by finishing second in Pool A with a 2-1 record.  New Mexico, who faces Texas West for the title tonight, finished first in Pool B.

Elsewhere, the Bossier All-Stars played undefeated  Hattiesburg, Miss., in a must-win game late Tuesday night in the Dixie Junior Boys (13s) World Series in Columbus, Ga. Three other parish teams — the Bossier 14s, the Haughton O-Zone (11-12)  All-Stars and the Benton AAA (10s) All-Stars — were all eliminated from their respective World Series tournaments.

In Columbus, Bossier suffered its first loss of the tournament to Hattiesburg, Miss., 6-0, Monday but came back to defeat North Carolina 11-8 in an elimination game. They are guaranteed a top-four finish.

In Laurel, Miss., Haughton defeated Texas 6-2 in an elimination game Monday. Haughton suffered its first loss against Florida 19-11 in a game that ended well past midnight on Sunday.

Jathon Patton pitched a five-hitter against Texas. He also had a single and an RBI.

Kobe Jackson led Haughton with two hits. Kason Green went 2-for-4 with a home run, double and three RBIs against Florida. Haughton was eliminated by South Carolina, 13-2, on Tuesday

Also in Laurel, the Benton All-Stars fell to South Carolina 12-7 Monday in an elimination game.

In Seneca, S.C., the Bossier All-Stars fell to Columbia County, Ga., 16-6, Monday evening in an elimination game of the Dixie Boys (14s) World Series.

Bossier stayed alive with a 10-0 victory over Virginia earlier Monday. Bossier finished the tournament 2-2.
