Bossier man jailed for chase, fatal crash

A Bossier City man is behind bars following a hospital stay stemming from a fatal crash in downtown Shreveport.

Robert Traylor, 34, was booked into the Bossier City Jail on March 9 for active warrants resulting from a police chase and crash that killed a Shreveport woman killed Feb. 21.

Brittney Foster, 23, of Willow Lane, died at Ochsner LSU Health hospital after a midnight collision at the intersection of Crockett and Spring streets in downtown Shreveport.

Police said Traylor was leading Bossier City police on a chase after he refused to stop during a traffic stop. Police chased him across the Red River, through Shreveport’s Highland neighborhood where it ended in Downtown Shreveport when he crashed into two other vehicles.

Traylor spent time in the hospital for injuries sustained during the crash. He was booked for Aggravated flight, 3 counts of false imprisonment, and several traffic charges.

More charges are expected once the Shreveport Police Department concludes its investigation.
