Various events are scheduled for Bossier Parish Night Out (as part of National Night Out) on Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 6 – 9 p.m. Deputies and first responders will be joining residents at their block parties throughout the parish.
“We always look forward to this event because it gives us a chance to visit with the people we serve and learn about their concerns,” said Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington.
Bossier Parish Night Out is an opportunity to promote partnerships between the community, the Bossier Sheriff’s Office and other local law enforcement agencies and emergency services. It also heightens crime and drug prevention awareness in Bossier Parish neighborhoods and generates support for anti-crime programs.
Seventeen block parties are scheduled Tuesday night. Sheriff Whittington encourages residents to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening with their neighbors and deputies.
