The Bossier Parish School for Technology and Innovative Learning (BPSTIL) held its highly anticipated annual AG and FFA Plant Sale on April 2-3, drawing a steady crowd of plant enthusiasts, community members, and supporters of agricultural education.

Running from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 2 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 3, the event featured a wide selection of flowers, vegetable plants, and handcrafted woodworking projects created by students in BPSTIL’s Agriculture and Engineering Departments. Attendees had the opportunity to browse and purchase locally grown plants while supporting the school’s hands-on learning initiatives.

“This event is a fantastic way for our students to showcase their hard work and skills while engaging with the community,” said Julie Malone, AG Science teacher at BPSTIL. “All proceeds from the sale go directly back into our program, helping us continue to provide valuable agricultural and technical education.”

The sale, which has become an annual tradition, not only serves as a fundraiser but also as an educational experience for students involved in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and BPSTIL’s agriculture programs. Students were hands-on throughout the event, assisting customers, sharing knowledge about plant care, and managing sales.

Community members expressed enthusiasm for both the quality of the plants and the opportunity to support local education. “I love coming to this sale every year,” said one attendee. “The plants are always great, and it’s wonderful to see students taking pride in their work.”

With another successful plant sale in the books, BPSTIL continues to emphasize the importance of agricultural education, innovation, and community involvement. Organizers are already looking forward to next year’s event, hoping to build on the success and continue fostering a passion for agriculture in future generations.
