Bossier Parish students experience a night to remember

Hundreds of Bossier Parish students and their parents attended the first ever Bossier Schools i3 Art Expo Red Carpet Awards Ceremony at the Bossier Parish School for Technology and Innovative Learning on Tuesday, April 12.

“It is my pleasure to welcome you to the first i3 Art Expo Red Carpet Awards Ceremony. This year’s i3 Art Expo was one to be remembered with thousands of people visiting the Bossier Civic Center to see and experience your amazing talents,” said Martha Patten, Director of this year’s i3 Art Expo.

“Tonight is your night. A night where we are rolling out the red carpet to recognize you,” she added.

Judging took place during the i3 Art Expo which was held at the Bossier Civic Center March 31 through April 2. And, students who won first place in their specific category received their very own first place award plaque during Tuesday night’s awards ceremony.

Also taking place during Tuesday night’s awards ceremony, i3 Art Expo Expo sponsors presented their Sponsor’s Choice Award for student entries they had previously selected as their favorite entry in specific categories.

Students who won the Sponsor’s Choice Award are listed below:

Calvin Jackson literary Award: Ava Alsabrook, 5th grader at W.T. Lewis Elementary School for her essay “How to be a successful 5th Grader”

School Booth Competition: Waller Elementary School

City of Bossier Mayor’s Choice Award: Ashland Foster from Plain Dealing for her artwork “Flamingo”

Berkshire Hathaway i3 Art Expo Red Carpet Award: Braxton Thomas from Curtis Elementary School for “The Red Hummingbird”

Christus Shreveport-Bossier Health System/Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals: Nina Chen from  Sun City Elementary School for “That Fairy Tale” 

Suddenlink: Alexander Gibson from Airline High School for “Fire in the Jungle”

Bossier Federal Credit Union: Haley Hicks from Airline High School for “The Newest Member”

BPCC:  Fatima Nogue from Elm Grove Middle School for “Divadona” 

SWEPCO:  Brooklyn Warren from Haughton Elementary School for “Windmill” 

Cyber Innovation Center: Hope Roundtree from Airline High School for “Ready to Descend”

Citizens National Bank: Alex Lucas from Haughton High School for “Midnight Memories”
