Bossier Schools says classes will resume as scheduled Monday morning.

Schools that were without electricity following Saturday morning’s storm have had power restored, according to Bossier Schools Public Relations Liaison Sonja Bailes.

“For families without electricity, we will certainly work with them and make any necessary accommodations, but we encourage them to send their children to school where they are safe and will feel some sense of normalcy, thus giving parents the chance to take care of the arduous task of cleaning up, making repairs, contacting their insurance companies and the other business matters they are faced with,” Bailes said Sunday afternoon.

SWEPCO reports that power has been restored to 32,900 customers as of 8 p.m. April 14. Approximately 9,100 customers remain without power, including 5,500 in Louisiana and 3,500 in Texas.
