Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington promoted a veteran deputy in a ceremony Monday morning in the Sheriff’s conference room in the Bossier Parish Courthouse.
Deputy Tony Vandagriff was promoted to the rank of sergeant after 14-years of service in the Sheriff’s Office. Sgt. Vandagriff started his law enforcement career with the Sheriff’s office by serving one year in the corrections divisions. He then transferred to the patrol where he has served for 13-years. And for 10-years Sgt. Vandagriff has been part of the Sheriff’s Office Rescue Dive Team.
“Continue to bring that excellent work ethics and leadership you’ve already displayed to work. I’m honored to promote you to the rank of sergeant,” said Sheriff Whittington.
With this promotion, Sgt. Vandagriff will become a patrol supervisor on the night shift starting Friday night. “I’m looking forward to this because I really enjoy my job, and I’m honored that the Sheriff chose me to help lead in this awesome organization,” said Sgt. Vandagriff.
