Bossier Sheriff’s Deputy struck head-on in vehicle on Interstate 220

BOSSIER CITY, LA – A Bossier Sheriff’s Department Deputy was transported to Willis-Knighton Hospital in Bossier City early Sunday morning after his cruiser was struck head-on while working an accident on Interstate 220 in Bossier City.

Bill Davis, Public Information Officer for the Bossier Sheriff’s Office, said BSO deputies were helping to direct traffic (along with the Louisiana State Police) as Bossier City Police were working the scene of an 18-wheeler rollover early Sunday morning on Interstate 220. The deputy’s vehicle was parked near I-220 mile marker 17 when it was hit head-on by another vehicle. The crash looked pretty bad (with air bags deployed in the vehicles involved) according to witnesses on the scene. Davis says that the deputy should be ok. The crash is being investigated. The driver of the other vehicle is in unknown condition at this time.

BPT will post updates to this developing story as further details are made known.
