Bossier takes Dixie Junior Boys title

The Bossier All-Stars won the Dixie Junior Boys (13-year-olds) District 4 All-Star tournament with a sweep of the Minden All-Stars, 16-1 and 19-0, Saturday night at Walbrook Park.

Bossier’s Jonathan Brandon had a grand slam home run in the first game. He also had a bases-loaded double in the first.

Other members of the championship team are Steven Lutterman, Eric Williams, Chase Hodges, Lannon Broadway. Carter Parks, David Maxey, Jay Couch, Hunter Hollis, Buzz Vorachek and Christopher Hayes.

In the AAA Sub-District baseball tournament at Walbrook, the Bossier All-Stars advanced to the winners’ bracket final with victories over Haughton, 15-9, and DeSoto, 8-7. They faced the Benton All-Stars, who defeated the Shreveport Nationals 6-5, Sunday night.

Meanwhile, the Bossier and Haughton All-Stars rolled through their respective pools 6-0 in the 7-8 Machine Pitch baseball tournament in Minden.

The Benton National All-Stars went 4-2 and advanced to bracket play along with Bossier and Haughton.

Bossier and Haughton both won first-round games in bracket play Sunday. The Benton Nationals fell to the Minden Contin-entals.
