Two Bossier Dixie all-star baseball teams won state championships Sunday.
Bossier defeated EORD North 7-1 in the championship game of the 9 AAA state tournament in Ponchatoula.
Bossier went 4-0 in the tournament, also posting wins over Sabine, 16-7, Gonzales, 17-2, and West Monroe South, 13-3, in the three-day event.
Bossier advances to the World Series, which begins July 26 in Longview, Texas.
Bossier also won the 7-8 Machine Pitch title in Pineville. Bossier went 9-1 in the tournament, including 4-0 Sunday.
Bossier’s only loss was against Shreveport. The All-Stars defeated Shreveport twice Sunday, 14-4 and 2-0.
Bossier advances to the World Series, which begins Friday in Texarkana.
Members of Bossier’s state championship team include Miller Davis, Gamble Harvill, Turner Hubbard, Jeffrey King, Connor McConathy, Mason Morgan, Brock Nyswaner, Drew Robinson, Logan Scripture, Andrew Sharp, Carter White and Roland Wilkinson.
Elsewhere, the Haughton All-Stars finished 1-2 in the Dixie 11-under O-Zone state tournament in Shreveport.
Haughton just missed making it out of pool play and into the championship round.
After falling to Jackson Parish 9-6 Friday, Haughton dropped a tough 7-6 decision to EORD in its first game Saturday.
Haughton fell 6-2 in the second inning but rallied to tie it with two runs in the fourth and fifth. EORD won with a run in the bottom of the fifth.
Haughton outhit EORD 9-5.
Haughton closed out the tournament on a positive note, routing Pineville 15-5.
In Ponchatoula, all of the Bossier 9 AAA All-Stars played a role in winning the state title.
Zach Schoenborn went 3-for-3 with three RBIs in the title game.
Barrett Newman had two hits. Clayton Brandon, Kenner Lauterbach, Noah McWilliams and Riley Sitter had one each.
Chase Rambin, C onner Stevens and Collin Wiggins reached base on walks.
Rambin pitched a two-hitter and struck out 10 with no walks.
Eli Harper, Schoenborn and Sitter had three hits apiece in the win over Sabine. Wesley Gardner had a pair of hits. Gibson Harvill, McWilliams and Rambin all had one.
Brandon, Rambin, Sitter and Stevens pitched.
Harper, Rambin, Schoenborn, Sitter and Newman all had two hits against Gonzales.
Harvill, McWilliams and Stevens had one apiece. Gardner and Schoenburn combined to allow just two hits.
Gardner and Lauterbach had two hits each against West Monroe South. Newman, Schoenborn and Stevens had one each.
Lauterbach went three innings on the mound and allowed just three hits for the win.
