Bossier to conduct parish wide disaster drill Oct. 25

In their continuing effort to protect the community in all hazards, Bossier first responders and emergency planners will conduct an extensive parish wide disaster drill on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 8 a.m. to noon.

This drill is being conducted under the direction of the Bossier Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and will involve many emergency response vehicles, role players and even hospitals, among other assets, all working together to enhance our emergency preparedness.

Citizens should note that the drill will take place parish wide with heightened activities at:

  • CenturyLink Center
  • Bossier Civic Center
  • Louisiana National Guard Armory off Swan Lake Road
  • Benton Town Hall

Elements of the drill will involve simulated gunfire, smoke along with heavy response from law enforcement, fire and emergency medical personnel. The public is advised not to be alarmed and that the activity is only a drill. The drill will also involve simulated lockdowns at all schools in Bossier Parish.

Media wishing to cover the drill are asked to meet in the southwest parking lot of the Bossier Civic Center (see map) that day no later than 8:15 a.m.
