The Parkway and Airline boys and girls bowling teams advanced to the Bi-Regional Tournament Tuesday in the Bossier/Shreveport Regional Tournament at Holiday Lanes.
In the boys regional bracket, No. 1 seed Parkway defeated Bossier 27-0 in the first round and then knocked off Byrd 20.5-6.5 in the second round to advance.
Airline defeated Benton 24-3 in the first round and then upset No. 2 seed Loyola College Prep 17-10 to advance. Loyola came back to defeat Byrd 22-5 to get the third Bi-Regional spot.
The boys and girls Bi-Regional Tournament is March 28 in Lafayette.
The top-seeded Parkway girls received a first-round bye and then defeated Loyola 26-1 in the second round to advance. The Lady Panthers improved to 13-0 on the season.
Airline downed Bossier 25-2 in the first round and then fell to Byrd 16.5-10.5 in the second. The Lady Vikings defeated Loyola 24-1 in the third-place match to advance.
Destin Meza led the Parkway boys with a high-game of 235. Chandler Sumpter bowled a high game of 223. Alex Davis had a 210, Justin Shea a 202 and Alex Bequette a 187.
Kristina Welch led the Parkway girls with a high game of 206. It was her first 200-plus game. Nicole Taylor, the top bowler in the district during the regular season, had a high game of 203 and Ashley Shea bowled a 164.
Courtland Carey topped the Airline boys with a high game of 205. Brian Fielding had a 203, Jaylon Ellison a 196 and Nick Mendones a 184.
Courtney Riede paced the Airline girls with a high game of 191. Jami Rivers had a 180 and Shelby English a 173.
Haughton’s Ryan Reggio and Zach Gardner qualified for the boys Bi-Regional singles tournament as individuals.
Benton’s Jordan Lawrence and Brittany Ulmer, Haughton’s Amber Simmons and Lorisa Raney, and Bossier’s Tizzie Raggs qualified for the girls Bi-Regional singles tournament.
Raggs had a high game of 201, her first ever 200-plus game.
